Booking and payment

The full rental amount is payable through Booqable when booking. The motorcycle is not reserved until payment has been completed.

The customer must provide:

  • Full name and contact details
  • Residential address
  • Date of birth
  • Current motorcycle licence
  • Passport or photographic identification
  • Emergency contact details
  • Licence requirements

The rider must:

  • Be of legal age to hold a motorcycle licence in Australia
  • Hold a current motorcycle licence valid for the selected motorcycle
  • Present the original licence and photographic identification at collection
  • Be named on the rental agreement

Only the approved rider named in the rental agreement may ride the motorcycle.

Overseas riders must hold a current motorcycle licence that is valid for riding in NSW. If the licence is not in English, they must also carry an official English translation or International Driving Permit.

Security bond

The applicable refundable security bond will be taken by credit-card pre-authorisation before the motorcycle is released.

The bond may be applied toward damage, missing equipment, recovery, refuelling, excess kilometres, late-return charges, traffic infringements or other amounts payable under the rental agreement.

The bond does not limit the customer’s responsibility for loss, damage or other charges. The remaining balance will be released after the motorcycle has been returned and inspected.

Insurance and responsibility

Adventure Moto Rentals holds standard Public Liability insurance.

The rider is responsible for loss or damage to the motorcycle and supplied equipment during the rental period, together with recovery costs and damage caused through misuse, negligence, prohibited use or breach of the rental agreement.

Customers should arrange suitable personal travel insurance covering motorcycle riding, medical expenses, personal accident, emergency recovery, trip cancellation and personal belongings.

Permitted use

The motorcycles may be used on:

  • Sealed public roads
  • Maintained public gravel and unsealed roads
  • Public roads through national parks and state forests where motorcycles are legally permitted

The motorcycles may not be used on:

  • Single-track or technical off-road trails
  • Motocross tracks or competition courses
  • Beaches or sand dunes
  • Closed roads or restricted fire trails
  • Private property without permission
  • Flooded roads or water crossings
  • Any route prohibited by Adventure Moto or the relevant authorities

Distance allowance

The rental includes 300 kilometres per day, calculated across the complete rental period.

Additional distance will be charged at AU$0.40 per kilometre. Longer-distance trips may be approved in advance.

Fuel

The motorcycle will be supplied with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank.

If it is not returned full, the customer will be charged for the missing fuel plus a AU$30 refuelling fee.

Pickup and return

Adventure Moto will operate as a service-area business. The private Nashua operating address should not be published online.

The pickup and return location will be provided after the booking is confirmed. Collection is by appointment only, and there will be no walk-in premises.

Standard arrangements:

Pickup between 8:00 am and 10:00 am

Return by the corresponding agreed time on the final rental day

Delivery and collection in Byron Bay, Ballina and surrounding areas may be available by prior arrangement, subject to availability and an additional fee. Delivery charges will be confirmed once the transport arrangements have been finalised.

Late returns and extensions

Customers must contact Adventure Moto before the agreed return time if they expect to be late.

Unauthorised late returns may be charged at AU$30 per hour. A delay exceeding four hours may be charged as an additional full rental day.

Extensions must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled return and remain subject to availability. An extension is only confirmed once approved and the additional rental charge has been paid.

Cancellation policy

  • Within 24 hours of booking: full refund, provided pickup is more than 48 hours away
  • More than 14 days before pickup: full refund less a AU$50 administration fee
  • Between 7 and 14 days before pickup: 75% refund
  • Between 48 hours and 7 days before pickup: 50% refund
  • Less than 48 hours before pickup or failure to arrive: no refund

One change of dates may be made without a rebooking fee where more than seven days’ notice is provided. Changes remain subject to availability and any difference in price.

No refund applies for early return, unused rental time, unsuitable weather or a customer deciding not to continue the rental.

If Adventure Moto cancels because a motorcycle is unavailable or unsafe, the customer will receive a full refund of the amount paid to Adventure Moto.

Breakdowns and accidents

For a mechanical breakdown not caused by the rider, Adventure Moto will arrange assistance, recovery, repair or a replacement motorcycle where reasonably possible.

The rider must report any accident, theft, breakdown or damage immediately and follow the instructions provided. Repairs must not be authorised without Adventure Moto’s approval except where immediate action is necessary for safety.

Adventure Moto will cover recovery resulting from a mechanical failure. Recovery resulting from an accident, puncture, lost key, running out of fuel, rider error or prohibited use will be charged to the rider.

Condition reports

The motorcycle and supplied equipment will be inspected and photographed at pickup and return. Any existing marks or damage will be recorded before departure.

Traffic infringements and tolls

The rider is responsible for all traffic, parking and toll charges incurred during the rental.

Any infringement requiring processing or transfer after the rental will attract a AU$50 administration fee.
