FAQ

Bikes & rider requirements

The XT250 is ideal for riders wanting a lightweight, easy-to-manage motorcycle for gravel roads and backroad exploration.

The Tenere 660 is better suited to experienced riders seeking greater touring comfort, luggage capacity and long-distance capability.

Our Yamaha XT250 and Ténéré XT660Z are both LAMS approved and can be ridden by Australian learner, provisional and full motorcycle licence holders, subject to their licence conditions, including any supervision requirements.

Overseas visitors must hold a current motorcycle licence recognised in Australia that authorises them to ride the chosen bike. A car licence alone is not sufficient.

Route recommendations can be matched with rider experience. The XT250 is suitable for riders with basic motorcycle experience, while the Tenere 660 is recommended for riders with previous adventure or dual-sport riding experience.

You are welcome to wear your own riding gear. Selected equipment may also be available depending on availability.

Yes. Both our Yamaha XT250 and Ténéré XT660Z can carry one pillion passenger, provided your motorcycle licence permits it.

The passenger does not need a licence but must be at least eight years old, wear an approved motorcycle helmet and keep both feet on the passenger footrests.

The combined weight of rider, passenger, riding gear, luggage and accessories must not exceed 150 kg for the XT250 or 180 kg for the XT660Z. Please confirm passenger eligibility with us before booking.

In most cases yes, provided the rider holds a valid licence recognised for use in Australia and meets all rental requirements.
